Full Service - Benchmarking, Verification & Reporting
Utilivate, a recognized energy benchmarking service provider, will perform full benchmarking, verification, and reporting services for commercial buildings up to 250,000 sq. ft. and residential buildings between 50 sq. ft. and 250,000 sq. ft.; and, provide a confidential report/document (i.e. Data Verification Check List) to the client/building owner and submit to the City of Chicago as required by "Amendment of Title 18 of Municipal Code" regarding building energy use benchmarking.

Benchmarking

Utilivate will perform benchmarking services for commercial buildings up to 250,000 sq. ft. and residential buildings between 50 sq. ft. and 250,000 sq. ft. Specific tasks are identified below:

Gather detailed information on building characteristics appropriate for the property use type

Obtain monthly, whole-building energy use data for all fuel types

Enter data into US EPA Energy Star Portfolio Manager; generate “Data Verification Checklist” report

Verification & Reporting
As an approved Chicago Energy Benchmarking Service Provider, Utilivate Technologies will review energy and building data to verify accuracy and ensure compliance with the Chicago Building Energy Use Benchmarking Ordinance. Utilivate energy experts have the required City of Chicago recognized licensing and training credentials.
Utilivate will perform verification services for commercial buildings up to 250,000 sq. ft. and residential buildings between 50 sq. ft. and 250,000 sq. ft.; and, provide a signed “Data Verification Check List” to the client/building owner as required by "Amendment of Title 18 of Municipal Code"regarding building energy use benchmarking.

US EPA ENERGY STAR Certification

Buildings with a high ENERGY STAR score resulting from the Chicago Energy Benchmarking program (i.e., 75 or higher) are eligible to apply for ENERGY STAR certification.
ENERGY STAR certification allows organizations to differentiate their leadership and achievement in energy conservation and environmental performance through an objective and widely recognized government-based benchmark.
Utilivate’s licensed Professional Engineers (PE) will conduct a cost-effective, streamlined process to full ENERGY STAR certification. Below are key tasks which will be conducted:

Conduct site visit; verify that indoor environmental criteria and other key parameters have been achieved

Support and facilitate the EPA ENERGY STAR Certification application process; including, application corrections and revisions, if necessary

Support response to any follow-up communication from EPA
